Job Title: Master Scheduler

Location: Chatsworth, CA

Job Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 (DOE)

Job Summary:

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and publishing the master production plan and daily schedules to achieve revenue and delivery objectives. This role ensures production plans align with resource capacity and company priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify the top 3-5 constrained work centers, providing an executable production schedule and managing detailed schedules.
  • Work with Production leadership to address constrained work centers.
  • Review and release job orders based on production readiness.
  • Report on production control KPIs, such as job orders and on-time releases.
  • Design, maintain, and analyze integrated master schedules for capacity utilization.
  • Facilitate daily meetings with stakeholders to review schedule execution.
  • Conduct Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) for constrained work centers.
  • Set and maintain production parameters through analysis and collaboration with Engineering and Production.
  • Resolve work order quantity variances and material remnants.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Engineering, and Sales to support revenue objectives.
  • Ensure adequate sprint capacity for rapid development, strategic expedites, and demand spikes.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to streamline master scheduling processes.
  • Determine safety stock levels and economical build quantities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Manager/Supervisor.

Required Skills:

  • APICS CPIM certification (completed or in process).
  • Proficiency in ERP software, MRP, Scheduling, and Planning systems.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Commitment to excellence, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Leadership, business acumen, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Good judgment in decision-making and versatility in managing changing priorities.

Preferred Skills:

  • APICS Certification.
  • 5+ years’ experience with ERP system CRP & MRP.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma training and experience.
  • Experience leading Sales & Operations Planning (SOP) or SIOP.

Experience Requirements:

  • 4+ years of master scheduling experience, or three years of master scheduling with an additional two years of related experience.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related field or equivalent experience.
