Hello, We are looking to hire an experienced cocktail bartender at an elevated Japanese Izakaya in Berkeley. We are looking for someone who can fill Thursdays, Saturday and Sunday evening shifts from 4 – 11 pm.
Fish & Bird Sousaku Izakaya is an authentic Japanese restaurant with a modern, fresh, California flair. We serve the true Japanese food we grew up with in Japan. We want to work with people who appreciate the intricacy of Japanese cuisine and beverages and want to grow with us.
Fish & Bird is a Michelin Guide-listed restaurant, and we are looking for a few great cooks to join our team. . We also made the Esquire's Best New Restaurant 2021 list.
The right candidate must be able to multitask and handle the fast paced nature of building craft cocktails, while also serving at a full-service bar while maintaining a fun & pleasant demeanor with guests dining at the bar. Basic bar knowledge, including building & talking about classic cocktails & spirits is required. Knowledge of beer, wine, sake, & shochu is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Willing to work hard as a part of the team
- Be caring of customers, co-workers, and people around you
- Have no job is too small attitude -- you will be asked to clean in addition to the cooking, serving, learning, etc.
- Always stay busy -- if the restaurant is slow, then we need to be polishing glasses, silverware, etc. There will not be idle time.
- Be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Have fun in a fast-paced environment!

- Knowledge of Japanese cuisine
This is a full-time or part-time position, but more opportunities may become available as we get busier.
