Position Summary

Would you like to help nonprofit organizations around the world advance their missions and usher new programs and initiatives designed to make a better world? The firm seeks a detail-oriented Senior Data Analyst to collect, standardize, and statistically analyze primary data on comparative benchmarking. This is a full-time, onsite position in our Chicago office.

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for annual data collection of complex administrative records, normalization of the data for cross-client comparisons, and analysis of trends and special topics. The person in this position is responsible for the following:

  • Data analysis and building visualizations of data which can be clearly and effectively communicated to clients.
  • Coordinating project workflow and deliverables throughout the life of multiple client projects.
  • Communicating with and coordinating activities of multiple project teams.
  • Compiling project data, learning and performing data analytics.
  • Drafting client presentations and reports, drafting or editing correspondence, conducting benchmarking, and other duties as required.
  • The Research Data Analyst liaises across the firm and partners with DonorScape colleagues in visualizing DonorScape data within Tableau, R, Excel, and PowerPoint for inclusion and delivery in client reports.

Data Analysis

  • Extract appropriate internal and external data from client databases and/or other sources.
  • Develop reports and presentations using Tableau, R, and Excel.
  • Optimize existing templates and workbooks to transform, analyze, and report the data through relevant tables and charts.
  • Provide custom analysis in collaboration with consultants and senior staff as required.
  • Translate data analysis and visualizations into client-ready reports and presentations.
  • Provide meticulous ongoing quality assurance of data, analysis, reports, presentations and other deliverables to ensure correct, complete and relevant results.
  • Include work colleagues in best practice advances.
  • Share knowledge in technical skill areas with work colleagues, making a positive change and measurable difference to Huron|HURON|GG+A and client projects.

Project Support/Management

  • Manage time efficiently to ensure availability to meet project team’s expectations for work assignments.
  • Ensure deliverables follow HURON|GG+A style, format, and best practices’ standards.
  • Collaborate and communicate with team members.
  • Follow up with clients, colleagues, and vendors to ensure timely completion of projects and throughput of workflow.
  • Discuss project deadlines with other HURON|GG+A colleagues as part of the project team and ensure that work is prioritized appropriately.
  • Take proactive role in communicating assignment deadlines to team members and ensuring deliverables are prepared and submitted within determined timeframe.
  • Limited out-of-town travel may be required, though the staff member will work primarily from HURON|GG+A’s headquarters in downtown Chicago.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a quantitative field, social science research, public policy, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ work experience with at least 1-year direct experience analyzing quantitative data.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, v-lookups, pivot table, charts etc.) required.
  • Experience with Tableau (visualizations, crosstabs, tables, dashboards etc.) or similar visualization software required.
  • Experience with R or similar statistical software required.
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting projects or programs (can be from academic setting).

Salary and Benefits

The estimated base salary range for this job is $85,000 - $125,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $93,500 - $147,500. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
