Project Engineer - Capital Project

Job Brief
Lead capital projects and provide management to the most risky and challenging (major) projects. Responsible for ensuring that capital is invested efficiently and effectively through application of the project management system to all capital projects.

What You'll Do
As a Project Engineer, you will lead capital projects and provide management to the most risky and challenging (major) projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that capital is invested efficiently and effectively through application of the project management system to all capital projects. Other duties include:

1. Improve project delivery capability by continual development of both systems and personnel.
2. Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety.
3. Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
4. Live and foster the IPL (Incitec Pivot Limited) Corporate Values.
5. Support Business Improvement initiatives and ensure participation from all areas of responsibility.
6. Ensure compliance with and continuous improvement of the PMO's Project Management System.
7. Control the nominated site capital expenditure and projects to achieve production and financial targets.
8. Monitor and forecast the nominated Manufacturing Site capital outlay.
9. Ensure project planning and delivery performance targets are set and achieved.
10. Provide concise, clear project reporting across nominated sites.
11. Embed value analysis processes to capital submissions proposals.
12. Integrate Global engineering resources into capital projects where required.
13. Assemble and utilize competent and capable multidiscipline project teams utilizing both internal and external resources.
14. Be the Regional representative of the project delivery team, facilitating clear and concise communications and help establish & maintain strong relationships with the site leadership team.

What We're Looking For:

1. BS degree in Engineering preferred (Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical) or 10 years' experience as Project Manager.
2. 5+ years in a related industry with a proven track record in project management, problem solving, startup and commissioning.
3. Experience in managing portfolios with total value in excess of $4M and individual projects greater than $1M.
4. Knowledge of the selection of process equipment such as pumps, vessels, and heat exchangers.
5. Familiarity with automated process control in manufacturing operations, including temperature, flow, level, pressure, and pH instrumentation.
6. Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player.
