Job Requirements / Description
Job Purpose
Work on simulation, testing, calibration, validation, and development of modern engine and emissions control systems for transportation and power generation applications. As a key member of the team, you will focus on emissions testing, combustion recipe development, and applying engineering techniques to solve complex problems.
Key Job Elements
- Test and verify engine combustion, fuel systems, and aftertreatment systems on transportation equipment and in field applications
- 1-D simulation of engine and system level performance to optimize engine performance and after-treatment hardware
- Plan and manage engine testing, DOE, combustion recipe development, data collection and processing for steady-state, transient, cold, altitude, and emissions certification
- Thermal and fluid sciences investigation of product, system, and/or technology problems and recommending appropriate action, owning problem resolution, and documenting results
- Support engine build and field service groups
- Product development and continuous improvement issue management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field with 5 years of experience performing test, simulation and validation in the heavy machinery, automotive, or equivalent industry; OR Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field with 3 years of experience performing test, simulation and validation in the heavy machinery, automotive, or equivalent industry
- Experience/familiarity with heavy duty diesel engines
- Ability to lead/drive resolution of complex technical issues
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data to make decisions related to engine performance and emissions
