Youth Detention Counselor

At CoreCivic, we are seeking a dedicated Youth Detention Counselor to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care in a secure institutional setting and resolving daily issues with inmates to maintain a safe and secure environment.

• Maintain a caseload of inmates to address daily living issues
• Conduct regular rounds, observe operations, and anticipate situations on the unit
• Meet one-on-one with inmates to resolve grievances and potential issues
• Develop cooperative relationships with both inmates and institution departments

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent
• Three years of correctional/detention officer experience
• Valid driver's license required
• Minimum age requirement: 18 years
