Job Description:
We are seeking a Plant Operator who will be responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing MSKCC Outpatient Facilities building and physical plant machinery/equipment in accordance with required engineering practice.

Join us as a Plant Operator and be a key part of maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at MSKCC's Outpatient Facilities. If you're passionate about delivering excellent service and ensuring a smooth operation of building systems, this is the role for you!

Role Overview:

Inspect, test, and operate building machinery and equipment to ensure everything runs safely and efficiently.

Maintain, repair, replace, and install parts of the physical plant equipment.

Maintains all documents for routine maintenance, service requests and inventory per department policies.

Provide courteous, professional customer service when responding to requests and inquiries.

Maintain a clean, orderly, and secure workspace while properly caring for tools and equipment.

Ensure the safety of employees and visitors by protecting MSKCC buildings, assets, and premises.

Adhere to safety and infection control standards set by institutional and regulatory bodies.

Key Qualifications:

Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.

Eager to take on new challenges with energy and passion.

Able to work effectively with complex information.

Collaborative and team-oriented with a focus on shared goals.

Adaptable to changing situations and demands.

FDNY Q-01 Refrigerating System Operating Engineer certification required.

Relevant NYC certifications Preferred: G17, G35, G48, B29, S12, S13, A35, F60, G71, P98, P99 (all required within 6 months of employment)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.

This location is staffed 24/7, as such hours and days may vary based on the needs of the department and institution.
