Overall Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Assist with Journal entry write-up and input for all transactions that are done electronically or inter-fund. (Ex. Postage, supplies, IT charges for general fund, etc.) There is also journal entries to post cash activities for various departments to County's financial system, New World (AAA senior center accounts, Law Library, Trust and Agency Accounts); reviews contracts, bids, vehicle titles, agreements, and various County documents for accuracy and compliance; acts as liaison for department with various vendors and assists in rectifying any problems encountered; performs data entry for invoices and purchase orders for payment; answers routine questions from general public, internal departments, or refers callers to proper individual; audits accounts payable invoices; assumes duties of co-workers in their absence or on an as needed basis; assist with special projects, Audits, Accounting & Accounts Payable; develops internal audit programs and/or utilizes internal audit programs already developed by experts in the field of auditing, as directed by the Controller; assist with monthly balancing and reconciliation of the Retirement Fund. Assist with and help prepare and submits annual Retirement Financial Report; assist with internal audits, including Tax Collector Audits and other Internal Audits as directed by the Controller.EDUCATION/TRAINING: Associates degree from accredited college or university, preferably in Accounting. Strong computer skills desired.WORK EXPERIENCE: 2-4 years' experience working in accounting/auditing, or any acceptable combination of education and experience. Government and supervisory experience preferred.
