We have an immediate need for an Operational Accounting Manager in our Franklin Park, IL location. The Operational Accounting Manager provides financial support to the operations team and will provide direct financial oversight at Franklin Park. As a proactive business partner to the Franklin Park team, the manager will provide financial recommendations and validations, looking for ways to optimize the cost structure and generate savings, understanding how decisions impact the P&L and putting internal controls in place to ensure assets are properly safeguarded. This will include conducting monthly operational financial reviews, P&L reporting, metrics, and analysis. This position also maintains the ERP costing system, including monthly cost runs and assists in updating overhead rates on an annual basis. Financial reporting tasks include key variance analysis, trend analysis and account reconciliations. The manager will also lead the CAPEX request and analysis process which includes validating returns assumed to approve CAPEX are actually achieved.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial oversight of Franklin Park and partner effectively with the management team. This includes providing key financial insights including gross margin analysis, scrap analysis, and ROI analysis for new equipment as well as identifying opportunities to optimize the cost structure and drive savings. Prepare monthly financial reporting and communicate key takeaways as well as recommendations.
  • Manage all capex requests including financial analysis and ROI. Perform post mortem analysis to ensure returns are generated as expected.
  • Own all year-end audit requests associated with the Franklin Park and create the annual budget.
  • Develop annual overhead rates. Review and analyze impact by product line.
  • Prepare account analysis and reconciliations at month end.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP.
