Here is how you would contribute to Sierra’s team:
The Project Engineer works as part of the Project Management team which is responsible to plan and oversee the project and to ensure its timely, cost effective and high quality outcome. The Project Management team can vary greatly depending on the size and complexity of the project, which in turn affects the number and scope of responsibilities the Project Engineer is involved in during any project.
Primary Duties:
- Maintain an understanding of the contract including Sierra’s contractual obligations and the owner’s obligations.
- Approve invoices and subcontractor applications for payment.
- Preparing and distributing meeting minutes.
- Assisting the Project Manager with subcontract negotiation and administration.
- Corresponding with owners, clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Provide support for planning, scheduling and coordinating projects to meet deadlines.
- Effectively prioritize and manage the administrative workload – including RFI’s and drawings.
- Prepare and forward submittals; confirm submittal complies with plans/specs.
- Reviewing Shop Drawings for coordination with trades and compliance with contract documents.
- Assisting in conducting complete and accurate quantity take offs.
- Monitor material deliveries to ensure they conform with the project schedule.
- Assemble close out documentation including manuals and warranties for turnover to owner.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager in purchasing activities.
- Learn, understand and adhere to company safety policies and programs, including the ability to independently stop work for a safety violation or suspected safety violation.
- Maintaining project management files and logs in Sage 300 CRE.
What we would like to see from you:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent.
- 1 to 5 years of industry experience.
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office Products.
- Previous Sage 300 CRE experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good time management skills and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated work ethic.
- Function effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Benefits Sierra currently offers:
Sierra offers a total compensation package that includes base salary, discretionary bonus potential and a benefits package that includes health benefits (Medical and Dental), paid time off (Vacation, Sick and Holiday), retirement benefits (Employer Profit Sharing and 401(k) Plan with discretionary match), Long Term Disability Insurance, Life Insurance and an EAP. Other available benefits include Voluntary Term Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Pre-Tax Spending Plan, and Pre-Paid Legal Services. The full salary range for this position is $70,000-$97,000. We are committed to do our best to supply a suitable pay range for this job. We will work hard to assess the proper fit for you within Sierra’s company structure after assessing your experience, training, and qualifications.
