Senior Controls Accountant (HYBRID)

About This Role
The primary purpose of this role is to assist Ace management in documenting, evaluating, and improving the effectiveness of our organization’s control and governance processes. The primary focus of this role will be on reviewing processes containing key financial controls, evaluating the overall effectiveness and efficacy of those controls, and working with management to develop innovative and effective solutions when issues are found.
What You’ll Do

1. Complete assigned engagements following Ace’s risk methodology including distribution of final materials and subsequent follow-up of items needing remediation.
2. Compose and deliver presentations aimed at all levels within the Ace organization: summarizing the process, work performed, issues noted, and our plans for remediation of key issues.
3. Assist in the development of the comprehensive work instructions by which transaction processes should operate, along with templates, methodologies, and summary reporting and reviews.
4. Develop governance process walkthroughs and controls points, along with the key control testing and reporting.
5. Display and use project management and leadership skills frequently to assist Ace personnel in helping their departments achieve their goals.
6. Assist process owners in the preparation and on-going maintenance of control and process documentation (policies, procedures, narratives, control matrices, etc.).
7. Assist process owners in identifying and resolving internal control issues and identifying best practices from an internal control perspective.

Who You Are
Experienced Finance professional who is passionate about improving operational processes. You are motivated to find ways to explain business processes to the rest of the Ace enterprise.
Required Skills

1. Minimum of 5 years in professional finance/accounting/auditing capacity.
2. Prior experience in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance preferred.
3. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business; additional certification (e.g. CPA, CIA, CFE) is preferred.
4. Proven ability to re-design and re-engineer processes, including root cause analysis.
5. Experience with corporate-level general ledger software packages.
6. Proven project management abilities.
7. Ability to analyze work/process flows for the department and challenge existing tasks, reporting and metrics.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Proven change management skills including assisting employees working through change.

Preferred Skills

1. CPA or MBA.

Compensation Details
$82300 - $103000 Per Year
