Role Summary

Implement O-RAN technology across 4G/5G mobile networks across various mobile service operators globally. Perform acceptance testing and verification of O-RAN implementations across operators. Responsible for RF designing, performance, and optimization tuning during and after the implementation of O-RAN. Perform RAN and RF parameter configuration implementation and testing. Troubleshoot issues during implementation and perform parameter tuning for optimal performance. Responsible for customer training and mentoring of O-RAN technology. Perform O-RAN capacity regression. Lead First Office application (FOA) field trials before commercial launch. Study incumbent supplier parameters and adapt O-RAN parameters during pre and post analysis. Help develop automation frameworks like Real Time and Near Real time RIC. Closely work with multiple Inter-Operability Testing (IOT) engagements across Radio, UE chipsets and RAN system integration detailing. Lead integration of O-RAN virtualization activities across multiple CaaS, PaaS engagements. Help develop AI/ML capabilities for operationalizing O-RAN. Improve operationality capabilities to match/better incumbent RAN systems in terms of identifying key alarming and KPI capabilities. Drive testing and post-processing in detail to find issues and recommend changes to improve RAN performance. Position is fixed based in Richardson, TX office; however, telecommuting from a home office location is allowed. The occupation requires travel up to 30% of the time, including frequent domestic travel within the US to client locations (5-8 visits) and some international travel (3-4 visits).

Key Responsibilities

Job Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or a related field (foreign equivalent acceptable) and 5 years of experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or related occupation in RF planning and E2E RAN solutioning.

Must have four (4) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Experience troubleshooting issues during implementation and performing parameter tuning for optimal performance.

Must have three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Experience with RAN and RF parameter configuration implementation and testing.

Must have two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Experience with RAN planning and optimization across technologies, including 2G/3G/4G/5G or SRAN/O-RAN/C-RAN.
  • Experience in parameter configuration and defining golden value for each parameter that impacts performance and system capacity.
  • Experience troubleshooting RAN and RF KPIs and improvement implementations.
  • Experience with Layer Management across incumbent technologies.
  • Experience with 4G and 5G work in multiple spectrums holding scenarios.
  • Experience with Automation on SOC/RIC.

Must have one (1) year of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Experience designing RF solutions for various field scenarios and implementations for optimal performance and fine-tuning.

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm.
