Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Vice President and CFO will work closely with the Board of Directors and the management team to further the current strategy of sustaining strong local operating companies as well as an array of cash flow and productivity improvements, joint ventures and strategic alliance opportunities. The CFO will oversee the company’s credit relations and overall financial structure, including the following: accounting, treasury, finance, tax, controls and related compliance. The CFO will also play a collaborating role in strategic planning activities. The CFO will lead the company’s strategic forecasting efforts.
As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will partner with the CEO, SCI executives and operating company executives to determine the company’s strategic direction and lead a broad scope of financial activities.

Rate: $250,000-$400,000 annually

Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Serve as a key financial and business advisor to the CEO. Collaborate with SCI management to develop strategic and operating plans, in addition to evaluating investment opportunities, as a member of the Board’s Acquisition Committee.
- Drive the financial decision making of the company by providing strong financial and management leadership while developing and executing strategy and developing and implementing capital structure and accounting policy.
- Manage the comprehensive strategic finance model consolidating near-term and long-term forecasts from six broadband companies and a managed cloud services business. Provide monthly updates to the CEO on strategic finance matters. Assist in strategic decision-making by providing insightful financial analysis and recommendations.
- Represent the company and serve as the primary contact for private lenders and senior bank lender. Manages administration and compliance reporting to external lenders.
- Ensure the fiscal integrity of the company by directing and monitoring all financial affairs including but not limited to accounting, control, cash management, treasury, reporting, forecasting, planning, audit, budgeting, financial modeling, and financial systems; and developing and implementing processes and controls where needed.
- Works with the Chief Administrative Officer to develop internal audit plan and monitor activities of external audit firm. Along with CAO, provides reporting and follow up to the Audit Committee related to internal and external audit and risk management activities.
- Develop and define clear goals for the financial organization and communicate them throughout the company.
- Provide value added analysis of financial reporting and helping set financial targets and benchmarks for the organization.
- Responsible to facilitate the consolidated company annual budget development and reporting.
- Evaluate the organizational structure of the finance and accounting function and develop a plan of action focused on team effectiveness, continuous improvement and professional development.
- Ensure the company is in compliance with all financial reporting requirements including statutory requirements, tax laws, and accounting principles.
- Contribute to both short-term business goals/objectives and long-term strategy development through the evaluation of potential business partners and the identification, analysis, prioritization and execution of investment proposals (divestitures, alliances, joint ventures, and other significant business investments).
- Oversee shareholder investment and implement financial controls and programs that maximize shareholder value, reflect high ethical standards and enable ongoing growth opportunities.
- Provide strong leadership in the recruitment, training and development of a high caliber financial team. Ensure the finance organization has a high level of performance and productivity, while creating a culture that attracts the best talent into the organization.
- Manage development of cash management processes, monitoring, procurement and management of cost-effective borrowings, general risk management and optimization of credit lines. Identify emerging issues and/or problems and initiate appropriate corrective action to keep the company on course toward achieving its balance sheet, cash flow, income and overall business objectives.
- Oversee the distribution of clear and comprehensive financial performance reports on a regular basis with a focus on variance explanations and cash flow.

The successful Senior Vice President and CFO has:
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures. Experience in implementing new strategies and procedures, and ability to manage resources and change. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
- Experience with Great Plains software.
- Prefer experience overseeing the upgrade of accounting and similar ERP software systems to better align data into a unified platform.
- Experience reporting to the Board and Audit Committee using key performance indicators and metrics such as dashboards, PowerPoint, and similar thematic presentations.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects.
- 10+ years of relevant financial experience.
- Proven leadership experience.
- Experience managing a geographically diverse organization.
- MBA/CPA preferred.
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel.
