Job Summary:Exercises high degree of independent judgment in preparing a large volume of product in a complex, fast-paced production environment. Prepares conventional & convenience type foods following established procedures for patients, cafeteria & catering. Cooks food to order on the cafeteria grill; rethermalizes food for the cafeteria consumption; & performs other related functions.Essential Responsibilities:This description is for recruitment posting purposes only. It has not received full HR review and approval.Prepares conventional and convenience type food from recipesPrepares entrees, sauces, soups, gravies and cooks food from quantity recipes and production ordersCooks food to order such as hamburgers, eggs and grilled cheese sandwiches on the cafeteria grill during a designated meal period and according to a predetermined menuServes food to cafeteria patrons in according with established serving proceduresDelivers requested items to physicians dinning roomRefrigerates, wraps and dates food as requiredPortions vegetables and reconstitutes and portions starch items for patients and cafeteria and cateringMaintains cleanliness of assigned work area and related equipmentMay perform duties of Dietary Aide and Storeroom Worker as requiredPerforms other related duties as requiredPromotes, ensures, and improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent with the organizations philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations and quality serviceBasic Qualifications:ExperienceOne (1) year of experience as a cook requiredAbility to work from, reduce & expand recipesAble to use standard food service equipmentMust be able to fry, grill, roast, and prepare sauces, soups & graviesAbility to lift & manipulate food & supply containers up to 40lbsEducationCulinary Arts degree or equivalent experience requiredLicense, Certification, RegistrationFood Handler Certificate (California)Additional Requirements:Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of hospital food service operation preferredCOMPANY: KAISERTITLE: First CookLOCATION: Fontana, CaliforniaREQNUMBER: 1311553External hires must pass a background check/drug screen.
