The Associate Global Key Account Manager - Electronics supports the overall strategy of BU Electronics. This position carries global responsibility, with a specific requirement to act freely across geographical borders to manage and facilitate business-related activities from the design centers of the OEMs in Europe or the US to the manufacturing centers in Asia. The aGKAM uses specialized knowledge to connect the company’s practical knowledge to the assigned GKAs, including technical support, existing and new product trainings, and R&D. The aGKAM organizes and conducts international GKA meetings (with support from US and EU colleagues) to jointly define priorities and activities to increase business with the account and its value chain.

Principal Accountabilities/Main Functions

  • Management of Global Key Account (GKA) in Electronics activities including respective partners in their supply and decision-making chain.
  • Spec-in of tesa solutions at defined GKA (OEM) design/technology centers, and their respective suppliers (Electronic Manufacturing Suppliers (EMS)), Component Makers, and Converters. Drive global coordination of related activities leading to profitable growth. Assigned GKAs are subject to change based on market conditions or organizational change.
  • Define product development needs for respective GKAs and suppliers, participating in the development process and subsequent specifications at design centers.

Primary Tasks

  • Drive tesa adhesive spec-in at GKA by working with Product Design Engineers and Materials Engineers while aligning and negotiating pricing and supply with Global Sourcing Managers, Manufacturing Engineers from Proof of Concept stage through Mass Production.
  • Regular visits to OEMs’ design centers to support spec-in of products throughout the design cycle.
  • Promote tesa solutions for key applications throughout the customers’ value chain at tiers and involved converters.
  • Make regular visits to the value chain in Asia or other regions to support the OEMs’ design teams and tesa team during initial build phases. Collaborate closely with the relevant tesa team in the region to ensure smooth communications on project information, conduct monthly meetings, and participate in global sales meetings.
  • Involvement in proof of concept build meetings, early prototype builds, and early product design meetings.
  • Identification of upcoming projects and mapping of project supply chain and key decision makers.
  • Identification of gaps in our product assortments and requirement profiles by writing business cases requesting new products that fill these gaps.
  • Create and update Key Account Plan, defining development roadmap, financial plan, and critical strategies.

Skills And Knowledge

  • University degree preferably in Chemistry and/or Engineering or comparable experience.
  • Results-oriented, capable of managing complex projects both independently and collaboratively.
  • Minimum 3 years sales and account management experience.
  • Willingness to travel on the job domestically and internationally approximately 30-50% of working time.
  • Positive attitude towards proactive communication and networking.
  • Intercultural competence with experience working with the supply chain in Asia is preferred.

Salary Range

  • Min: $88,400 - Max: $142,092
