We're looking for an experienced IP Docket Specialist to join our NYC team! In this role, you'll be responsible for reviewing, entering, and processing IP prosecution correspondence, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, from the USPTO, UKIPO, EUIPO, and foreign associates into our cloud-based docketing system.
We're seeking someone with 3-5 years of IP Prosecution docketing experience who pays close attention to detail, has excellent communication skills, and can manage multiple priorities with ease. You'll need to work independently and exercise good judgment while staying on top of deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do:
- Enter and track critical dates for patent and trademark prosecution, ensuring all information is timely and accurately entered into CPi.
- Process and interpret incoming correspondence from the PTO, attorneys, clients, and foreign associates for accurate docket entry.
- Prepare reports and retrieve filing information from relevant websites to maintain the integrity of the CPi database.
- Review and check the work of team members, processing and docketing documents, and maintaining IP records.
- Prioritize tasks with high attention to detail, ensuring deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.
- Apply policies and best practices in handling all IP prosecution matters.
- Support the IP Support Manager with additional duties as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- An undergraduate degree.
- 3-5 years of IP prosecution docketing experience, ideally in a law firm.
- Familiarity with CPi docketing systems (this is key to the role).
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys and support staff.
- A proactive attitude, taking ownership of your work and seeing it through to completion.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle legal and technical materials with accuracy.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
- No travel is required for this position.
