The San Diego Tourism Authority is a private, non-profit, mutual benefit corporation composed of approximately 900 member organizations, businesses, local governments, and individuals seeking a better community through the visitor industry. San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA) members include tourism-related entities in such categories as lodging, dining, arts & attractions, shopping, and transportation, among others, as well as other companies indirectly involved in the visitor industry.
As a sales and marketing organization, the main objective of SDTA is to promote and market San Diego County as a vacation destination and meetings and convention site. SDTA also represents and supports the interests of the visitor industry as a whole.
General responsibilities:

  • Execute a Membership plan for the organization that meets annual Member retention and dues revenue goals.
  • Train Members to use the SDTA extranet to post content to sandiego.org.
  • Review content submissions from Members to ensure they meet SDTA content guidelines.
  • Respond to inbound Membership inquiries by email and phone in a timely manner and convert prospects to new Members.
  • Promote programs that connect members to benefits. Schedule in-person Member orientations, networking events and other events as assigned.
  • Maintain membership data in the current CRM platform. Ensure data accuracy and cleanliness by proactively monitoring & updating data. Develop processes and communication to ensure data updates are made to essential databases.
  • Support annual Member renewal effort by working closely with Finance team on collections and communications.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of member-based operations is preferred.
  • Proactive problem solver capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to handle and resolve member issues professionally and calmly.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Comfortable working with enterprise-level CRM systems.
  • Ability to review and edit content for grammar, accuracy, and adherence to content guidelines for sandiego.org.
  • Knowledge of the hospitality industry and established contacts within San Diego are a plus.
  • Experience in event management is a plus.

Annualized salary range is $69,500 to $79,000 DOE.
