SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Based at Rocket Lab’s global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Senior Software Engineer will play a critical role in the development of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This essential application is used globally, from design to assembly. It ensures the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes, which include building both rockets and satellites.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

  • Build and maintain Rocket Lab's Manufacturing Execution System with users on multiple continents.
  • Work with all the different stakeholders to understand which improvements to our solutions create the most value.
  • Provide engineering support for application issues and monitoring of application reliability through use of appropriate tools.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of professional experience and a bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or similar.
  • Technical experience:
    • Statically typed languages (we use C#)
    • Modern TypeScript frameworks (we use Angular)
    • Relational databases
    • REST APIs

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience with manufacturing and aerospace industries.
  • AWS and other cloud providers
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Elasticsearch

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be physically able to commute to buildings.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.
