Hours: Full Time

Job Requirements / Description

The cloud-backed terminal for individuals and teams

Warp is modernizing the command line to make it more intuitive, collaborative, and intelligent for developers and teams. We believe there's an opportunity to build a generational company known for considered, high quality developer products – products developers love rather than tools they tolerate – to displace antiquated developer tools that have mediocre user experiences.

The traditional terminal is a prime example of this type of tool having not meaningfully changed in the past 40 years, and is ripe for innovation. By fundamentally reimagining its experience – improving its UX, making it intelligent and collaborative – we can help developers ship better software more quickly.

We're hiring someone to grow Warp and get our product in front of as many developers as possible. This is a dynamic role that will require an entrepreneurial mindset and self-directed style. It's a particularly interesting opportunity for people with a technical background aspiring to be future founders and learning about GTM and growth.

You will report to the Product Lead, and sit at the intersection of the Growth and Product teams. You will work closely with our Product Lead, Growth Product Manager, Product Marketing Manager, and Developer Advocate.

We have a decent sense of what drives growth – in general, authenticity with developers – but you will have the freedom to pursue any channels you think make sense. Some potential ones include:

  1. Strategic partnerships
    • We have begun to work with companies, VC deal marketplaces, and influential developers to bring Warp to their audiences. What other tools, open-source projects, or organizations work well with Warp? What are some creative ways we can work with them?
  2. Community Empowerment
    • Several sites like Figma and Notion use community-drive plugins and templates to broaden their reach and product scope. How can we supercharge our community to create their own viral content within Warp?
    • How can Warp empower existing users to spread and share Warp?
  3. Viral growth loops and creative special projects
    • We are constantly on the lookout for creative ways to create growth loops for our users. From Spotify Wrapped to theme contests, you can try any project that incentivizes users to spread Warp to other users.
  4. Content strategy
    • Our website and blog have reached wide audiences on HackerNews and Reddit. But we're still in the early stages; what themes should we be writing about? How do we drive conversion? How do we leverage our community to write content for us?
    • You'll also help own our marketing website - from brainstorming what types of content changes will boost downloads to actual implementation, A/B experimentation, and measurement.

As your programs succeed and the company grows, there will also be opportunities to:

  • Attract qualified leads for eventual paid conversion
  • Build a team to scale out growth loops that you have proven successful
  • Team up with the Product team to build out an ecosystem of extensions and integrations

You may be a good fit if...

  • You have experience coding.
  • You have a passion for learning more about the terminal and developer tools.
  • You experiment and double down on the experiments that work. You like quickly validating concepts through MVPs.
  • You are willing to roll up your sleeves to do all things necessary to make an early-stage startup successful.
  • Bonus
    • You've brought together developer communities before through hackathons or other events.
    • You are an aspiring founder type who is interested in how to take a product that developers love and get it in front of more people.
    • You have worked in the developer tools space before.
    • You have experience with Webflow, Metabase, Ahrefs, Customer.io, Segment, or similar tools.

The Opportunity

The terminal is one of very few tools used by every developer every day, which makes it an ideal gateway to improving all sorts of developer activities. We believe there is an opportunity to build a unicorn-sized business improving the command-line.
