By closely monitoring and evaluating the work environment, this position helps to minimize risks and protect the well-being of employees. Collaborates with various departments to develop and implement policies that promote a safe and healthy workplace. Through training sessions, audits and regular updates to safety protocols, ensures the organization not only meets legal standards but also fosters a culture of awareness and responsibility toward environmental and health issues.ResponsibilitiesPerforms safety related administrative tasks, to include compliant program recordkeeping, equipment procurement, Workers' Compensation case management, and responding to inquiriesDevelops, evaluates and maintains effective health/safety policy and procedures to comply with corporate and regulatory requirements, these activities include but are not limited to Safe Operating Procedures, Hazard Communication, LockouVTagout, and JSA'sAdministers facility environmental activities including scheduling, tracking, reporting, planning, sampling, and regulatory permitting for environmental assessments, and investigations to ensure corporate & regulatory complianceConducts routine audits and inspections of environmental procedures and controls, recommending corrective action to maintain safety and effectiveness, this includes GEMBAS with line supervisionMaintains effective documentation and relationships with regulatory agenciesQualificationsBachelors degree preferred in safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental related discipline3-5 years of related experienceBilingual English/Spanish is requiredDemonstrated computer literacy with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software (Access and Gensuite software are desirable)Certification a plus (CIH, CSP, and/or CHP)Strong interpersonal skills and strong analytical and communication skillsGood presentation skillsHave knowledge of Process Safety Management, Title V, NPDES and (SWPP) Storm Water Pollution Programs, Hazardous Waste CAL-OSHA standards in Title 8Able to work flexible hours and be available on call before or after normal business hoursPactiv Evergreen is one of the largest manufacturers of fresh food & beverage packaging in North America, with market leading positions across a broad range of products.
