Project description
Mechatronics technical and system validation onsite support of vehicle prototyping and pre-series activities at a major production site located in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Position assumes participation in majority of prototyping activities that include but not limited with collecting electrical and other measurements, hardware installation, software management including over the air updates, management of components logistics, system validation / testing, data collection and defect root cause analysis.

Skills
Must have
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as an engineer/ technician in automotive industry
  • Experience with onsite support of various technical (mechanical/electrical) activities at vehicle production and assembly stations / sites.
  • Basic experience with vehicle testing.
  • Experience with measurement equipment installation, removal and usage.
  • Vehicle data collection experience.
  • Experience with diesel / gasoline / PHEV / BEV engines / systems.
  • Experience with manual / automatic transmissions.
Nice to have
  • Experience with vehicle data and trace collection.
  • Experience with software updates and hardware retrofitting.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering basics sufficient to perform parts and component replacement at a station and troubleshooting of basic issues.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle validation principles and process.
  • Vehicle diagnostics experience and understanding of principles.
  • Automotive SPICE knowledge
  • CAN protocol / Vector CANoe
  • Software development / System Validation background.
  • Root cause analysis experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with vehicle prototypes.
