Overview: We from Russell Tobin, on behalf of our client in the banking and financial industry, are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Analyst. This role is perfect for recent graduates looking to start their career in finance and gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, operations, reporting, and strategic planning.


Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Assist in analyzing financial data and preparing detailed reports to support management decisions.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Data Management: Collect, organize, and analyze data from various sources to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Variance Analysis: Monitor and report on financial performance by comparing actual results with budgeted figures, identifying variances, and providing explanations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Research: Conduct research on market trends, industry developments, and competitor performance to support strategic planning.
  • Compliance: Ensure financial practices comply with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with different departments to gather information and provide financial insights that drive business decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous industry internship or work experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related field is highly preferred.


  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Familiarity with financial software and databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, or similar) is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
