Real Estate - Associates

Our prestigious AmLaw 50 international law firm, located in Chicago, is actively seeking mid-level Real Estate Associates to enhance our dynamic team. As a crucial part of our firm, you will focus on complex transactions related to real estate financing, particularly in lender representation and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS). The role is challenging but rewarding, providing extensive exposure to high-profile transactions and an opportunity to work within a collaborative environment that fosters professional growth and development.

Compensation: $310,000.00 - $390,000.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal counsel in areas of real estate financing and lender representation.
  • Draft and negotiate complex co-lender and intercreditor agreements.
  • Manage legal aspects and due diligence involved in commercial mortgage-backed securities.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys to ensure seamless execution of real estate transactions.
  • Engage with clients to understand their legal needs and ensure their satisfaction with deliverables.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and changes in law and regulations affecting the real estate field.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Must be bar certified in Illinois.
  • 4-6 years of substantial experience in real estate law focusing on real estate financing, lender representation, and CMBS.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal documents with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale real estate projects and transactions.
  • Prior roles in significant law firms with a focus on commercial real estate.
  • Background in managing client relationships and large transaction teams.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior attorneys and support staff within the firm.
