Job Description


The Director of Data Innovation is a customer-focused thought leader with a combination of analytical aptitude and business expertise (preferably in healthcare). You are passionate about analytics, comfortable with ambiguity, and excited to roll-up your sleeves to help us expand our product & service offerings. You are naturally curious to understand the “why” behind the “what” and you take a consultative approach to clearly articulate meaningful insights to clients and internal business leaders. You have a proven track record of partnering across organizations and developing strategic solutions. This includes framing business problems into analytic questions, engaging the right stakeholders, and influencing strategic decision-making.

In this role, you will build and lead a team of data professionals and work collaboratively across the organization to test new ideas and capture meaningful business insights. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Analytics and is part of the Enterprise Analytics Team.

What you will do:
  • Lead development of data innovation strategy and spearhead companywide data initiatives, setting and delivering on the strategic vision for Enterprise Analytics team.
  • Work in combination with our internal teams, and third-party analysis vendors, to lead the evolution of how we measure, report, and share meaningful insights.
  • Assess analytical needs, including strategic fit, market attractiveness, financial value, and risk profile.
  • Provide hands-on solutions in early project stages, driving initiatives forward. This includes leading the design, development, and maintenance of data models, dashboards, and automation projects.
  • Propose and implement technology solutions to improve data collection and utilization for competitive advantage.
  • Assist with develop and implementation of an enterprise data platform.
  • Proactively communicate insights and recommendations to executive stakeholders, translate findings into actionable business terms, and persuade internal stakeholders on the value of data/innovation solutions.
  • Foster data literacy and cultivate analytics expertise across the Enterprise Analytics team.
  • Work independently, think critically, and demonstrate strong leadership qualities to establish credibility within the organization.
  • Foster productive cross-functional relationships, resolve conflicts, and set priorities.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to ensure team performance and coach non-technical colleagues.
  • Perform leadership duties, including interviewing candidates, conducting performance reviews, addressing performance issues, and applying appropriate disciplinary action.
  • Manage staffing and workload distribution as the team grows.
What we need from you:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferably in STEM related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in providing leadership and managing an analytics team with at least 7+ years in the healthcare industry or analytics.
  • Strong understanding of the mechanics of data structures and business intelligence.
  • Prefer some knowledge of advanced data science, and statistical modeling methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of BI and statistical programming tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.) with a strong understanding of hiring & skill assessment in these disciplines is required.
  • Consulting and professional services management experience.
