Summary Of Position

The Operational Data Analyst manages company-wide databases related to various customer and regulatory reporting requirements. Develops and implements standardized optimized processes and improvements in company-wide data reporting which may include algorithm development. Analyzes various data and provides trend and variation reporting to internal customers. Compensation commensurate with experience. This position will be in Houston, Texas and reports to the Senior Vice President of Engineering and Planning.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Advanced data management skills
  • Expert with Excel and other database management software
  • Proven ability to optimize data reporting and develop new processes.
  • Knowledge (or ability to quickly learn) of power usage calculations.
  • Knowledge of asset management software such as Maximo
  • Ability to develop algorithms.
  • Ability to use data analytical software such as Spotfire.
  • Proven collaboration skills with multiple internal groups
  • Documents all related job processes to ensure others can follow the workflow.
  • Provides backup support for production SCADA management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree
  • Advanced database and data management software skills (SQL knowledge is a plus)
  • Ability to work with others on a team to accomplish established goals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, maintain detailed and accurate records, and prepare clear and concise written reports.
  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Python coding

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of oil and gas, water management, and midstream industry experience
  • Bachelor of Data Engineering degree is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be deemed insurable by the Company's insurance provider.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. on occasion to archive documents as needed.
  • May be required to speak frequently to respond to inquiries using a desk phone.
  • May require fine manipulation by hand for typing purposes.
  • Travel to Midland, TX as needed.
