Director of Development

Catholic Theological Union (CTU) seeks a full-time Director of Development to lead our ongoing fundraising and community engagement efforts. The Director of Development reports directly to the Vice President for Development and is responsible for designing and implementing our development plan. This will include CTU’s annual fund, foundation relations and grant writing, event planning and execution, donor stewardship and cultivation, and international travel opportunities. As a member of the Advancement Team, the individual Director works closely with team members to ensure the fulfillment of CTU’s mission.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

1. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. CFRE credential or ongoing fundraising education desired.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role in fundraising or development.
3. Proven track record in managing fundraising campaigns and developing donor relationships.
4. Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple initiatives simultaneously.
5. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
6. Familiarity with fundraising software and data-driven reporting.
7. A willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as required, approximately 1 month a year.
8. Sensitivity to working in a Catholic graduate school of theology and ministry.
