Ford EVDD is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities – such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling – to create ground-up, breakthrough electric vehicles.   • Design and develop centralized/distributed battery management electronics for electric vehicle applications (component selection, schematic design and layout design)

  • Design and develop mixed signal circuits (analog-digital) and LV power electronics (component selection, schematic design and layout design).

  • Perform circuit analysis using analytical methods and simulations.

  • Perform design failure analysis and support functional safety activities.

  • Support testing team with development of validation test plans and end-of-line test specifications.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, mechanical engineers, project management and supply chain within the organization to meet project deadlines.

  • 2+ years of experience with BMS applications and/or mixed signal PCB development with ADCs and digital I/Os.

  • Adequate knowledge of circuit simulation software (Simulink, LTSPICE, PLECS etc.).

  • Familiarity with common embedded communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, etc.).

  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, LCR meter, etc.), hardware bring-up and hardware troubleshooting.

  • Adequate knowledge of schematic and layout design for better signal integrity and manufacturability.

  • BS or MS degree in EE/CE (or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Altium Designer, PTC MathCAD (or equivalent), Confluence and Jira.

  • Familiarity with basic control concepts such as bandwidth, stability criteria, phase margin etc.

  • Experience with safety-critical automotive hardware development.

  • Familiarity with DFMEA.
