Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide administrative support including, but not limited to: answering telephones, monitoring departmental email accounts, scheduling meetings, maintaining office applications, and supporting other administrative systems.
  2. Process financial documents through University of Hawaii (UH)/Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH)/University of Hawaii Foundation (UHF) fiscal systems.
  3. Provide guidance to principal investigators (PI) and project staff to ensure that all fiscal transactions are compliant with relevant policies.
  4. Assist with the preparation of a variety of reports to ensure compliance with school, campus, and UH System requirements.
  5. Provide advice to PIs on preparation and submission of personnel documents.
  6. Draft or proof documents for PIs and supervisors and recommend revisions as necessary.
  7. Liaison with internal and external customers responding to inquiries and requests.
  8. Train personnel on the use of various financial portal processing systems.
  9. Assist with other fiscal, administrative, and personnel functions as requested.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in a relevant field and 0 years of progressively responsible professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience.
  2. Functional knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques in business administration.
  3. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes, and resolve issues in business administration.
  4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  5. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  6. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Experience working in a higher education administration environment.
