Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support including, but not limited to: answering telephones, monitoring departmental email accounts, scheduling meetings, maintaining office applications, and supporting other administrative systems.
- Process financial documents through University of Hawaii (UH)/Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH)/University of Hawaii Foundation (UHF) fiscal systems.
- Provide guidance to principal investigators (PI) and project staff to ensure that all fiscal transactions are compliant with relevant policies.
- Assist with the preparation of a variety of reports to ensure compliance with school, campus, and UH System requirements.
- Provide advice to PIs on preparation and submission of personnel documents.
- Draft or proof documents for PIs and supervisors and recommend revisions as necessary.
- Liaison with internal and external customers responding to inquiries and requests.
- Train personnel on the use of various financial portal processing systems.
- Assist with other fiscal, administrative, and personnel functions as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in a relevant field and 0 years of progressively responsible professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience.
- Functional knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques in business administration.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes, and resolve issues in business administration.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working in a higher education administration environment.
