WSP’s Visualization and Data Intelligence (VDI) national practice works on mission-driven professional services / consulting projects. VDI is a dynamic creative and results-oriented in-house visual design and technology innovation team supporting Future Ready projects that are shaping our communities. Our devotion to teamwork and innovation affords us the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects and technologies.
WSP’s VDI practice is currently initiating a search for a full time Senior Front End Application Developer for our Denver, CO or Buffalo, NY office (other WSP office locations may be considered) . As part of the team, you will work on multiple concurrent projects of varying levels of complexity for projects of both short- and long-term duration, in close collaboration with colleagues and clients. The workload is fluid and follows informal scrum and waterfall development, driven by our client schedules and unique requirements. Our successful candidate must be highly motivated to work in a fast-paced and exciting consulting environment.
You will support a variety of web development projects with a goal of expanding your technical, social, and ethical skills across a variety of science and planning disciplines while ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Your Impact
- Architect, develop, test, and deliver modern data-driven .NET web applications which are performant, adhere to creative team designs, and meet responsive design and accessibility requirements.
- Lead a variety of web development projects using modern development technologies to build fast and intuitive user experiences.
- While working in a fast-paced environment, proactively implement best coding practices and convey those best practices to team.
- Conduct requirements gathering/needs analysis and develop technical specifications for web solutions.
- Turn wireframes and mock-ups into reusable code and build high-quality, scalable UI components.
- Communicate with a workforce across the United States to share project updates, provide training, consult, and troubleshoot problems or issues.
- Perform development tasks within specified budgets and time frames.
- Pursue professional development to stay current with web development, delivery technologies, and industry trends.
- Adhere to the VDI culture of service, collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Actively participate in business development initiatives (demonstrations, client meetings, presentations, bids and proposal support, etc.).
- Maintain, support, and enhance legacy applications.
- Additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related discipline.
- 7-10 years of professional, custom web-based data-driven application development using C# and .NET with strong focus on responsive front-end user interface and user experience builds.
- Proficiency with front-end development frameworks like React (preferred), Vue, Angular, Blazor, etc.
- Proficiency with HTML5, JavaScript (ES6+), CSS3, JSON.
- Proficiency with Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 accessibility requirements.
- Proficiency with build tools including Webpack, Tailwind, SASS.
- Experience with Content Management Systems such as Umbraco, Kentico, WordPress.
- Experience working with AWS and Azure and deployment of web applications.
- Experience with cross-browser compatibility testing.
- Experience checking the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Experience with GIS and custom web map development in Mapbox, Google Maps, ESRI, etc.
- Experience mentoring junior team members.
- Working knowledge of SEO principles.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to both technical and non-technical audience.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft platforms, frameworks, and tools (Visual Studio, ASP.NET, and C#) and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Learn and apply new skills and tools during the life cycle of a project - identifying knowledge-transfer opportunities to junior staff to streamline processes.
- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined to organize time and work efficiently in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in consulting industry or fast paced multi-project environment.
- Experience designing workflows and data management techniques to increase efficiencies and maintain the quality of deliverables.
- Knowledge of the engineering and professional services industry.

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $89,200- $193,800
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
Expected Salary (Colorado only): $89,200 - $170,800
