Sproule is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, technically proficient Principal, Geothermal Energy, to join our growing Geothermal team. The Principal, Geothermal Energy for North America will lead the expansion of Sproule’s geothermal business in Canada and the US. The selected person will report to the Managing Director, Geothermal. Sproule Geothermal provides solutions encompassing the entire lifecycle of a geothermal project, including:
- Geothermal advisory, including strategy advisory and technical due diligence.
- Geoscience studies, including geological studies, geomodelling, and reservoir simulations.
- Geohazard monitoring, including risk assessments, management, and monitoring (seismicity and subsidence).
- Operations management, including well delivery projects and geothermal asset management services.
The Principal, Geothermal Energy will focus on business development and project leadership in advisory and geoscience projects. The role will be supported by geothermal specialists based in Europe and the broader Sproule team across our office network. The Principal will work closely with Sproule colleagues to execute and further improve our geothermal expansion strategy in North America.
Responsibilities
The Principal, Geothermal Energy responsibilities include:
- Act as a subject-matter expert pertaining to the commercial, technical, and operational aspects of the geothermal energy industry.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to execute geothermal energy projects.
- Engage with existing and potential clients and drive the development of the USA and Canada consulting and advisory practice with significant external and internal visibility.
- Monitor geothermal energy industry news, project developments, and regulatory updates.
- Develop products and advisory services consistent with market opportunities in the geothermal space, leveraging Sproule’s knowledge base.
- Handle special internal projects, as developed independently or assigned, support recruitment, mentoring, and training activities.
- Execute specific work scopes within projects, as applicable.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree(s) strongly preferred) in geoscience, engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership in geothermal energy (or other highly relevant leadership).
- 10 to 20 years relevant work experience in geothermal projects and/or consulting or advisory roles.
