- Setup and maintenance of a fully functional R&D department in order to autonomously run HW-Device projects and deliver the expected results in time, scope and budget.
- Apply the Eppendorf innovation process and safeguard compliance of all project activities with local, global and legal rules.
- Ensuring close cooperation with the business, especially in the area of product transfer to the TCS manufacturing site.
- Execution of new product development projects.
- Maintenance of the R&D Budget.
- Install a collaborative atmosphere among employees and foster cross-TC collaboration.
- Controlling daily business to comply with the objectives regarding time, budget and quality.
- Transfer business needs and expectations into tangible activities to achieve the requested targets.
- Ensure availability of qualified staff members to cover all necessary activities, such as project execution and product sustaining.
- Further development of the technologies and tool stacks used.
- Support project leaders in management of product projects.
- Process optimization, efficiency improvement and continuous improvement of the agile development process.
- Support and coaching of team members.
- Master degree in either hardware engineering (i.e. electronics, mechanics, mechatronics) or natural sciences (i.e. physics).
- Leadership experience in hardware development projects; preferably in lab equipment environment.
- Experience in the use and implementation of agile process models.
