Position Title : After School Counselor
Supervisor: Chief Youth Engagement Officer
Job Type: Part-Time (25 hours weekly), Hourly

Under the general supervision of the Chief Youth Engagement Officer at the Phyllis Wheatley Center (PWC). Primary responsibility is supervising the children and implementing programming.
The Duties and Responsibilities of this position are to:
- Use the knowledge of YWCA programs and policies to promote Association and Mission Statement in the community.
- Interact with other program personnel, volunteers, and staff to meet the needs of all YWCA members and participants.
- Participate in Association activities, as necessary.
- Comply with YWCA policies and procedures.
- Ensure safety at all times for children, staff, and facility.
- Collect and Record required monthly data.
- Actively participate in program activities with children.
- Communicate counselor needs to assigned reporting director.
- Prepare all supplies for empowerment areas, snacks, and cooking.
- Enforce disciplinary policies and procedures to students.
- Assist Reporting Director as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Must have experience working with children and youth.
- Must be available to work the weekly schedule.
- Must have experience with youth or participation in youth-related clubs, classes or programs and have effective human relations skills.
- Must be able to maintain a flexible schedule.
- Requires possession of organizational, numerical, communicational, computer, interpersonal, leadership and supervisory skills.
- Must have a "people first" attitude and possess the ability to think creatively, work under pressure and within time constraints, and work efficiently as part of a team.

- $15.00 hourly
- 25 hours weekly, October 4, 2024 - May 31, 2025
- Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 6:30pm
- Event Rentals: Wednesday: 3pm - 8:30pm; Sunday: 10:30am - 12:30pm
