With established offices in Los Angeles and New York City our division develops strategic plans for our clients across consumer marketing, public relations, social media and travel trade engagement. The Account Director is responsible for leading the strategy and day-to-day activities and relationships of a portfolio of travel and tourism clients. We are seeking a strong leader who thrives under pressure, and who is an expert at cultivating strong business partnerships with clients and travel industry partners. This individual must be strategic, highly-organized, and driven to achieve.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily management of account teams across tourist board and product clients
  • Develop and facilitate multi-year strategic marketing plans that lead to destination visitation growth for our tourist board clients;
  • Apply knowledge of travel trade engagement, public relations, partnership & consumer marketing, social media and event management to all client activities;
  • Lead team and client meetings;
  • Establish and manage client budget and achieve agency billing goals;
  • Integrate the efforts of all team members to optimize client plan results;
  • Cultivate team mentality and build strong mutual trust between client and agency;
  • Develop industry partnerships for the benefit of the client and agency;
  • Overseeing client KPI goals to ensure targets are met;
  • Participate in business development initiatives;
  • Manage staff resources, time allocations, annual reviews;
  • Domestic and international travel is required.

Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years of agency or tourist board experience at a senior level
  • Experience in hospitality/travel industry required;
  • Experience managing direct reports;
  • Experience in working for or managing international tourist boards strongly desired;
  • Strategic marketing experience strongly desired;
  • Excellent understanding of marketing metrics;
  • Excellent understanding of travel trade distribution and partnerships;
  • Must be highly effective at mentoring junior staff members;
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to establish trust and partnerships;
  • Excellent phone, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Senior-level presentation skills are a must;
  • Proofreading and attention to detail;
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines;
  • Comfortable working across different time zones as required;
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally for approximately 15% of the year;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and IOS software.

Education Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree
