Job Requirements / Description

Essential Job Duties:

  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with members of the Foundation and Auxiliary Board of Directors.
  • Prepares records and reports required for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Prepares the annual Foundation operating plan and budget. Implement and track expenses to budget.
  • Develops and recommends goals and objectives for hospital fundraising.
  • Evaluates changing trends in philanthropy, tax and estate planning regulations to develop new programs responsive to the fundraising needs of the hospital.
  • Conducts research and maintains records on gift potential of foundations, corporations, and individuals.
  • Designs and implements fundraising campaigns using techniques of direct mail solicitation, personal solicitation, benefit events, and involvement of business organizations.
  • Manages a portfolio of major prospects to cultivate, solicit, and steward.
  • Oversees Foundation's marketing and media relations, including print, web, and radio advertisement.
  • Ensures receipt, acknowledgement, and allocation of gifts according to the requirements of the IRS and the donor.
  • Develops rapport with existing and potential donors to discuss estate planning options with financial advisors, accountants, and attorneys.
  • Coordinates all individual giving to the organization through the major gifts program and the member program.
  • Adjusts program with an eye toward overall growth, efficiency, and scalability; develops programs in ways that create a cultivation of donor recognition, involvement, and stewardship throughout the organization.
  • Oversees the Manager of Good Samaritan Gifts and More and Volunteer Services.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising or in a closely related field.
