General Summary:
The Global Sourcing Director is a senior leadership position in the sourcing organization responsible for constructing and operating the processes, systems and customer interfaces to support and enable Qualcomm’s growth.
The position will be instrumental to ensure that we develop, provides, and executes sourcing strategies, options, working with internal customers to conclude decisions based on technology, cost and schedule requirements, and then drives procurement to completion.
Roles & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Drives business aspects of complex, high impact supplier agreements in collaboration with suppliers and internal cross-functional organizations
- Responsible for contract negotiations, cost, technology enablement, product development, and services to ensure capacity and supply assurance
- Collaborates internally and externally to plan and execute work based on an understanding of factors such as design changes, cost targets, and changes to scheduled and quantities. Determines next steps and the associated risks.
- Collaborate and coordinate across all functions including but not limited to business unit, sales, customer service, supply chain & finance, to understand and solve customer issues that span individual functional responsibilities.
- Building and develop a team of direct reports, providing ongoing communication, performance feedback, and creating an inclusive and collaborative environment.
- Leads team to conduct and manage advanced data analysis to identify problems and develop solutions.
- Communicate direction, and lead negotiations with all levels of supplier management to develop and deploy appropriate strategies, contracts, and business relationships that satisfy current and future business needs.
- Monitor key supplier performance for on-time delivery, quality and other needed KPIs as part of our continuous improvement environment.
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and value chain, including contracts, demand management, sales & operations planning, procurement, order management, and logistics
- Experience and skill working with customers, including senior leadership
- Must be able to communicate effectively at executive and functional work levels
- Ability to create complex and multi-layered strategy within supply chain systems that aligns with corporate strategies and objectives over time
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or related field.
- 10+ years of industry-specific experience in Procurement, Operations, or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business, Operations, or related field.
- 12+ years of industry-specific experience in Procurement, Operations, or related work experience.
- 4+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
- 4+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports).
- 3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).
- 1+ year working with operating budgets and/or project financials.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits :
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
