Converge Resources is actively seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with recent success in operational technology sales. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets, with deep expertise in industries such as Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Oil & Gas, and Chemicals.
Familiarity with key process industry systems like SCADA, CMMS, and ERP, alongside IT/OT convergent technologies, including AVEVA PI and Aspen IP21 is essential. Strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and a hunter mentality are essential to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities. Occasional travel across North America as needed for new business development.
Qualifications:

  • Recent experience as a Business Development Manager in operational technology, with a successful track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience and depth of understanding in two or more of the following industries: Power Generation (Traditional and Renewables), Power Transmission and Distribution (DER desirable), Mining and Metals, Oil & Gas (Midstream and Downstream desirable), Chemicals and Petrochemicals
  • Familiar with the use and applicability of various systems found in process industry operations: SCADA, CMMS. ERP, MES, Process Control Systems, EHS, GIS, LIMS
  • Familiar with IT/OT convergent technologies like AVEVA PI, Aspen IP21, Canary Labs, InfluxDB or similar types of process historians.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker & hunter personality with the ability to identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel around North America from time to time for client meetings and conferences.
  • Native-level spoken and written proficiency in business English is essential. Professional working proficiency in either Spanish or French would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and other relevant tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Create a network of professional contacts to identify and open new sales opportunities
  • Facilitate our customer onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition and successful implementation of our software.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with assigned enterprise customers.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth and expansion to meet our customers' evolving needs.
  • Take ownership in responding to RFI, RFP and other tender proposals as requested by customers.
  • Collaborate with our Sales team to develop account expansion strategies.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of our Asset Intellect and Alarm Sentinel products, solutions and associated Engineering services.
  • Act as an escalation point between our customers and Engineering and Support teams, ensuring timely resolution of escalated issues.
  • Collaborate with our Finance team to ensure the timely renewal of customer support contracts and subscriptions.
  • Act as an escalation point between our Finance team and customers to ensure timely payment of overdue invoices.
  • From time to time, travel around North America and internationally to represent our business in-person or at Trade Conferences.
