BESS Project Engineer (onsite)

Estimated Duration : 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work.

Required:

1. Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Juno Beach, FL (required);
2. Experience with BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and PV (Photovoltaic) Plant Controls: Strong understanding of these systems, including industry standards and best practices for code development.
3. Automation and Process Controls experience, particularly in PLC and PLC programmer development, as well as DCS (Distributed Control Systems);
4. Experience in systems such as Ignition, Wonderware, iFIX;
5. Experience in overseeing change management practices to ensure the deployment of updated library code.
6. Experience with creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for engineering rationales and updates related to the BESS and PV control code library.
7. Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) processes to validate system operability before commissioning.
8. Experience in coordinating with system integrators and stakeholders to ensure alignment with best practices and successful implementation of control systems.

Preferred:

1. Experience in the utility or energy industry;

Responsibilities:

1. Create, update, and manage the control code library for BESS and PV systems, incorporating industry best practices and lessons learned.
2. Produce detailed documentation that explains the rationale behind changes to the BESS master library, ensuring clarity for future modifications.
3. Manage change practices to ensure integrators have access to the latest code versions and adhere to updated protocols.
4. Assist in creating a Factory Acceptance Test template for BESS and PV assets to validate Plant Control functionality and readiness for commissioning.
5. Monitor code implementation to verify that it meets operational standards and incorporates feedback from lessons learned.
6. Work closely with system integrators, engineers, and project teams to ensure alignment and successful deployment of the control code library.
7. Regularly update the control code library with best practices, staying informed about new trends and technologies in BESS and PV systems.
