Job Summary: Our client has a dynamic Transit / Transportation Project Manager/VP opportunity in their Austin, Texas, office. This full-time role includes marketing, business development, client management, and project management for transportation agencies and clients in Texas, and has opportunities to work on transportation projects for other offices as well. The successful candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas with extensive experience managing highway transportation OR transit related projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate professional to grow our client's Austin office and advance their career at a premier design firm.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Project Manager for Transportation Agencies for projects such as Rail / Bus / Roadway Design, Feasibility Studies, and Alternative Delivery. This includes project accounting, monthly invoicing, and progress reporting.
  • Develop, oversee, and monitor project activities including scope, budget, and schedule management.
  • Manage project staff including PE’s, EITs, designers and drafters to execute work associated with highway/roadway/rail design, maintenance of traffic plans, drainage design, pedestrian and bike facility design, retaining wall layouts, stormwater pollution prevention plans, signage, pavement marking design, shop drawing reviews, and construction administration activities.
  • Market target clients and lead proposal preparation including oral presentations. Also prepare scope, schedule, and budget for new projects.
  • Participate in Office Leadership including assisting with Workload Projections, Annual Business Plan, Growth Strategies, Recruiting and Staff Development.
  • Support company-wide transportation initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer registered in state of Texas.
  • Minimum 15 years of engineering design experience with 5-10 years of highway transportation project management experience.
  • 10 years’ experience in Marketing & Business Development including writing proposals and preparing oral presentations.
  • Experience and relationships with Transit Agencies, TxDOT and other transportation agencies highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management scheduling and financial tools.
  • Proficient in MicroStation and Project Wise preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members.
