Job Title: Digital Marketing Manager

Summary

Visit Shreveport-Bossier (VSB) seeks a Digital Marketing Manager to help execute the overall strategic Communications and Marketing plan. The Digital Marketing Manager will help execute creative strategies to attract visitors to Shreveport and Bossier City (Shreveport-Bossier) and work effectively with all team members.

The ideal candidate is a Marketing professional who has proven success working in a similar capacity and has strong organizational, writing, editing, and analytical skills. This individual should be able to manage multiple responsibilities and projects independently and within a group environment. They must be inspired to positively contribute to the organization’s overall culture at Visit Shreveport-Bossier.

Essential Functions/Accountabilities

Establish KPIs and goals for the position, analyzing and implementing strategic decisions regularly.

Contribute integrally with the team to the development of the annual strategic marketing plan and campaign projects to promote our area to leisure, business, and sports travelers.

Build brand awareness locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally through cohesive and results-driven marketing and advertising.

Ideate and pitch high-level concepts for marketing programs that achieve business objectives and align with brand strategy.

Develop, gather, and verify information for the organization’s websites, apps, publications, e-newsletters, emails, and other related digital materials.

Oversee app needs and ensure proper connection of information flowing from the website.

Manage SBFunGuide.com by way of event submissions, approvals, and promotions, as well as website updates.

Manage 20x49 website with provided written content by team members, responding to comments.

Oversee digital advertising needs and work with publications, partners, and contract agencies to deliver digital ads.

Create and collaborate on the overall advertising schedule with the Marketing Manager to ensure branding and consistent messaging are pushed across all platforms for print and digital advertising.

Manage and publish web-related content on visitshreveportbossier.org and make recommendations to keep sections current and on-trend.

Create and review monthly website and ad hoc analytical reports with the team and provide recommendations.

Contribute to the digital assembly of print materials such as, but not limited to, outdoor guides, golf guides, holiday guides, Mardi Gras guides, and the annual Official Visitors’ Guide to Shreveport-Bossier.

Stay current on industry trends and best practices and share insights with team members.

Participate in appropriate professional associations and attend events, as needed, to promote tourism, business travel, and VSB sporting events.

Collaborate with external consultants as assigned to execute overall marketing strategy and produce on-brand, high-quality assets.

Contribute to content calendar discussions and assist with campaigns as assigned.

Engage in educational opportunities to benefit growth within the position, such as CRM/CMS and website analytics webinars, and implement skills learned successfully before taking the next steps.

Manage invoices specific to the position’s responsibilities and return them to the Director of Marketing in a timely manner.

Other duties and responsibilities as needed to ensure the ongoing success and positive work environment of VSB.

Desired Qualities

Four-year degree from an academic institution in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field.

Three years of marketing-related professional experience.

Proven working experience in digital marketing.

Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with team members and community partners.

Experience working within a CRM database and ability to operate Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent communication, grammatical, and presentation skills.

Creative outside-the-box thinker that identifies unique ways to reach a variety of target audiences.

Strong analytical and project management skills.

Web publishing and design experience desired.

Email marketing experience preferred.

Able to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

Ability to leverage multiple sources for research related requests.

Familiarity with the local area.

Travel/Job Requirements

Frequent travel locally and nationally will be necessary.

Ability to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Excellent copywriting skills

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Knowledge of online marketing channels

Analytical and multitasking skills

Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video)

Hands on experience in content management

Professional experience using web-based platforms
