PitchBook’s Business Development Executive, Media Sales drives business revenues by developing relationships with current and potential clients and selling them advertising programs that help them reach their business objectives. The role also collaborates with other Editorial team members to develop new advertising and sponsorship products.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. Drive business revenues by developing relationships with potential advertising clients and selling advertising packages across PitchBook’s daily newsletter, research reports, white label content, magazine, and digital news site.
  2. Independently prospect new business opportunities by building and leveraging a personal network with potential and current clients.
  3. Work with our Platform Sales and Customer Success teams to identify and sell media advertising programs for existing clients.
  4. Collaborate with other Editorial team members to develop new advertising/sponsorship products.
  5. Develop new sales business while also managing existing relationships.
  6. Build and maintain forecasts of new and existing business.
  7. Become an expert on the private equity, venture capital, and M&A markets and understand how we deliver value to each of our diverse client types.
  8. Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.
  9. Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  2. 3+ years of previous sales experience or similar role.
  3. Must be both social and amicable with the innate ability to build relationships with senior level executives.
  4. Detailed knowledge and experience with media buying/selling cycles and key performance metrics.
  5. Ability to self-manage and has a strong sense of pride in their work.
  6. A problem solver who is highly motivated, self-directed, and goal oriented for success.
  7. Works cooperatively and collaboratively in a team environment.
  8. Proficient and professional communicator.
  9. Strong presentation and prospecting skills, both over the phone and in person.
  10. Experience with Salesforce, and willingness to learn new tools such as Smartsheet, Liquid Planner, and more.
  11. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily.

Compensation:

  • Annual base salary: $97,000.
  • Annual on target variable commission of fully ramped representative meeting expectations: $94,500.
  • PitchBook currently has no cap on commission and commission is determined by individual performance.

Working Conditions:

We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an ongoing basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
