Job Requirements / Description
Position Summary: The Staff Accountant - General Ledger will help maintain accurate financial data, oversee accounts, and work with team members to fulfill various accounting responsibilities for internal and external users.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
- Agree to ACC's doctrinal distinctive and vision as found in our What We Believe/Vision statement
- Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in the Scriptures
- Accounting degree preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger functions
- Experience in problem-solving
- Strong organizational skills
- Work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to handle multiple projects effectively
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
- Foundational knowledge in QuickBooks
- Comfortable with data systems
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, as needed
- Fixed asset and project management
- Assist in the implementation of financial accounting procedures
- Manage credit card transactions
- Assist with accounts payable and check requests
- Help prepare the annual church budget and facilitate data entry of the budget
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial data
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
- All other duties as assigned
