WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the Staff Accountant you will be responsible for all general accounting functions including month-end closing preparation, monthly accounting reconciliations, and ensuring the company financial transactions are properly recorded. This is a hybrid position with 2-3 in-office days per week required.
  • Prepare and analyze month end financial reports
  • Prepare and post all general journal entries throughout the month
  • Perform detailed monthly review, analysis, and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
  • Analyze financial data to compare forecasted and trended results
  • Assist Controller to implement and maintain systems , procedures and policies directly relating to all functions within accounting to ensure adherence to company, GAAP, and tax guidelines
  • Assist Controller in preparation of Apartment Living forecasting for annual budget process
  • Prepare all schedules and documentation for year-end audit
  • Responsible for the annual preparation of 1099s
  • Provide accounting assistance to operations staff and vendors
  • Demonstrate discretion and use independent judgement when acting as liaison between company, governmental, external accountants, and insurance companies to meet informational needs necessary to make critical business decisions
  • Maintain historical financial data ensuring it is readily available upon request
REQUIREMENTS
  • Four-year degree in Accounting required
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required
  • Experience with Yardi preferred
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

HHHunt is committed to offering competitive pay. The hourly rate for this position starts at $21.71/hr and may increase depending on skills and experience.
