STV Inc. is seeking a Water Resources Engineer for our Mid-Atlantic area.
We have athriving Mid-Atlantic Transportation practice with a close-knit, team oriented group that is growing rapidly. Due to our success, we need to continue to add resources to assist with the delivery of our current extensive backlog of work. This backlog includes tasks associated with various infrastructure improvement projects for VDOT and MDOT as well as numerous municipal, institutional, and private sector clients.

This position offers excellent potential for career advancement as this individual would assist other senior staff in guiding transportation agencies in Maryland, Virginia and/or DC. The ideal candidate is an individual who desires to lead a team, displays confidence, and possesses a vast understanding of hydraulic design principles, erosion and sediment control and stormwater management.
Responsibilities include :
Providing professional design services for transportation improvement projects for MDOT and/or VDOT and other County/City agencies.
Developing design plans including storm drains, culverts, storm water management, ESD/LID facilities and erosion and sediment control.
Obtaining stormwater and erosion and sediment control permits.
Coordinating design development and assisting with technical direction to other design staff.
Coordinating with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget.
Assisting with the development of specifications, cost estimates and technical reports.
Establishing working relationships and interfacing with client technical staff and project managers.
Mentoring supporting water resource design staff.
Attending project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and the project team.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive water resourcedesign experience
MD/VA/DC Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Experience in all technical aspects of Water Resources Engineering - design of storm drains, culverts, storm water management, ESD/LID facilities, erosion and sediment control, and environmental permitting
Experience using hydrologic and hydraulic software such as GISHydro, TR-55, TR-20, HY-8, and HEC-RAS. HydroCAD, SWMM and FlowMaster experience is a plus.
Proficient with MicroStation.
MDOT and MD municipal client experience is a plus
VDOT and VA municipal client experience is a plus
Familiarity with NPDES permit requirements of municipalities and other government entities.
Knowledge of Chesapeake Bay TMDL requirements preferred
Proficient with MicroStation Inroads/OpenRoads modeling and ESRI ArcGIS preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Strong oral and written communication skills
Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner
Compensation Range:
