Description: What you'll be doing

As the Tax Manager, you will oversee tax planning, reporting, and compliance for income, excise, and property taxes. You will assess the tax implications of business activities, develop strategies to minimize liabilities, and provide expert guidance on regulatory changes impacting the organization. In this critical role, you'll manage relationships with vendors and advisors while collaborating with internal teams to enhance processes and mitigate potential risks.

As a key member of the accounting team, you will ensure full compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations. This includes establishing and maintaining systems that guarantee accurate, timely reporting across all tax areas. You'll stay ahead of evolving tax laws, update company policies, and develop strategies to seize new opportunities or mitigate risks. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and solving complex tax-related challenges while continuously optimizing reporting procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 to 5 years of directly related experience and 3+ years of managerial experience required.
  • CPA and a Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
  • Extensive individual/corporate/partnership tax knowledge.
  • Experience with real and personal property tax concepts.
  • Experience with excise tax concepts (sales and gross receipts taxes).
  • Familiarity with the tax code and U.S. Federal, State, and local reporting requirements.
  • Experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of Yardi, RIA Checkpoint, and BNA Fixed Assets or similar software.
