Special Education Teacher

Location: YPI Charter Schools

Position Overview: YPI Charter Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Credentialed Special Education Teacher for grades 6-8 to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure effective integration of students into the general education environment.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs, adapting lessons and materials as necessary.
• Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including IEP documentation and progress reports.
• Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes student learning and social-emotional growth.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

• Valid California Special Education Credential (Mild/Moderate).
• Experience working with students in grades 6-8 preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and families.
• TB clearance and ability to pass LIVE SCAN fingerprinting prior to starting the position.

Work Schedule:

• Bell hours as per school schedule.
