Position Overview

Baxter Planning is seeking a strategic and tactical Director of Product Marketing. The ideal candidate will drive the positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies for Baxter's portfolio of products. This role requires close collaboration with product management, sales, and marketing teams to build impactful programs that accelerate product adoption and revenue growth. The Director of Product Marketing will be pivotal in articulating Baxter's value proposition, addressing customer pain points, and ensuring market alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Positioning & Messaging : Develop clear and differentiated positioning and messaging that resonates with target audiences and highlights Baxter Planning’s unique value in the service supply chain space.
  2. Go-to-Market Strategy: Contribute to product launches and execute go-to-market strategies to maximize market penetration and revenue generation. Ensure alignment with sales and marketing teams to drive successful product adoption.
  3. Market Research & Competitive Intelligence: Conduct thorough market research, competitor analysis, and customer segmentation to identify opportunities and market trends. Provide actionable insights to product teams for future product development and create competitive sales positioning.
  4. Analyst Relations: Collaborate with Thought Leadership team to maintain relationships with key industry analysts, including Gartner. Ensure Baxter Planning is included in relevant market reports and assessments, and effectively communicate the company's product strategy, market positioning, and differentiation to analysts. Regularly brief analysts on product updates and major company initiatives.
  5. Sales Enablement: Collaborate with sales teams to create compelling product collateral, presentations, and sales tools - including but not limited to content for competitive bids, competition capabilities overviews, and battlecards - that clearly communicate product benefits and competitive advantages.
  6. Customer Advocacy & Voice of the Customer: Understand the customer needs, behaviors, and business challenges. Use these customer insights to inform positioning of the Baxter products and services with empathy. Collaborate with customers to tell their story about their experience with the Baxter product portfolio through case studies and testimonials.
  7. Product Evangelism: Act as a spokesperson and thought leader for the company's product offerings at industry events, conferences, webinars, and other public-facing engagements. Identify opportunities to drive brand recognition and promote Baxter’s products through industry award submissions.
  8. Performance Measurement : Monitor and measure the effectiveness of product marketing initiatives and continuously optimize based on performance data and customer feedback.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  2. Experience: 7+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably within the SaaS software and/or supply chain industries.
  3. Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of B2B software and supply chain management solutions, particularly supply chain planning, is required.
  4. Training: Pragmatic marketing training is preferred.
  5. Skills:
  6. Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities.
  7. Proven ability to develop and execute successful go-to-market strategies.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling product narratives.
  9. Experience with sales enablement and customer-facing programs.
  10. Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment and influence senior leadership.
