Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of youth and their families? Come join our MRT (Mobile Response Team) in San Fransisco to ensure youth and families receive comprehensive mental health services promptly. 

The Therapist / Social Worker  provides brief, solution-focused mental health interventions, therapy, crisis interventions, and case management services to children and families that are involved in San Francisco systems including child welfare, San Francisco’s Department of Public Health Child Crisis program, Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), and San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) youth. They work as members of a treatment team and provide services in the community, including hospitals, schools, and family homes located both within San Francisco and up to 90 miles away.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the clinical lead and work with the treatment team to provide crisis intervention and other mental health services as needed in client homes and in the community. 
  • Provide counseling, therapy, and case management services for youth referred by, but not limited to, the San Francisco child welfare system, SF Department of Public Health (DPH), Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), and San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD).  
  • Collaborate on a regular basis with team members including but not limited to: Child Welfare Workers, caregivers, school staff, therapists, and case managers. 
  • Complete risk assessments, clinical documentation, creation of behavioral and safety plans. 
  • Complete documentation identified by supervisor in a timely and satisfactory manner 
  • Participate in all treatment reviews, family team meetings and program staff meetings 
  • Participate in weekly individual supervision and group supervision to expand skills and receive ongoing coaching and support 
  • Provide on-call coverage to the clients as needed. 
Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, or psychology.
  • Eligible to register with the California BBS (AMFT, ASW, APCC).
  • Strong communication skills and flexibility.
  • Experience working with children and families in out of home care preferred.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Own vehicle, California driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

Preferred:

  • At least 9 months to 1 year experience in working with emotionally disturbed children in out of home care. 
  • Bilingual Spanish / English or Cantonese / English
Schedule
  • Full-Time
    • Mon-Thurs; 10am-8pm
    • Participate in On-Call Crisis Response shifts on a rotating basis

  • Starting salary: $74,263 - $88,263  annually
    • Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
    • Additional $4000 salary increase for BBS licensure
