Job Description:
The SEC PPG Senior Manager position on the Assurance Professional Practice Group team collaborates with firm leadership and client service teams to assist with the development of accounting and auditing policies, guidance, training, and tools. This role will be part of a team focused on key transformational initiatives that require audit methodology and policy development, support and enablement to help define how we execute PCAOB/SEC Issuer audit engagements. This position will be a key contributor to the learning and professional development of professionals serving SEC audit clients, including assisting our engagement teams in the PCAOB inspection process and performing hands-on engagement team coaching in executing PCAOB engagements.
This position may also include being part of a client service team that includes managing and supervising engagement teams performing SEC/PCAOB audits.
Responsibilities:
SEC Practice Initiatives:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of firm audit methodology, guidance and enablement.
- Perform engagement team coaching and assistance for PCAOB/SEC audits that assists in helping teams address complex accounting and audit matters.
- Assistance with PCAOB firm trainings, including design of programs and curriculum.
- Assisting with other designated transformational SEC/PCAOB audit initiatives.
- Assist in the development of internal and external publications and thought leadership.
Internal monitoring and PCAOB inspections:
- Act as liaison and assist engagement teams under PCAOB inspection.
- Perform internal monitoring and inspection duties.
Miscellaneous other SEC PPG projects and responsibilities:
- Perform both formal and informal consultations with engagement teams that address complex PCAOB audit matters and SEC regulation.
- Assisting with other designated transformational SEC/PCAOB audit initiatives.
Client Service Responsibilities:
- Managing and supervising PCAOB/SEC audit engagements, including assisting the coaching and development of engagement professionals.
- Providing clients with subject matter expertise in the areas of SEC regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of (8) years or more of audit experience in public accounting. Big 4 or national public accounting firm experience preferred.
- Strong experience assisting or managing PCAOB audit engagements (PCAOB integrated audit experience preferred).
- Experience with SEC regulations and reporting (10-K annual reports, 10-Q quarterly reports and registration statements).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting in front of large groups.
- Strong project management skills, including managing and leading multiple projects at the same time.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to create and manage deliverables independently.
