The primary purpose of the Sr. Data Integration Developer is to perform, design, development and implementation of computer applications and systems used for supporting the business needs of users of Education & Training's application systems.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Database Development & Maintenance (45%)
- Understands and appropriately manages the data contained within the various legacy trainee databases, warehouse, Oracle, PeopleSoft, SQL Server, and other institutional and departmental databases such as Slate, SimMetric, and New Innovations.
- Develop technical designs of automation and integration solutions to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual tasks, enhance data flow, and maintain data quality across systems.
- Develops database structures, user interfaces, and reports that support business processes conducted by the Division of Education & Training.
- Assesses emerging technologies and integrates them as appropriate.
- Responsible for the development and management of databases that incorporate data from various institutional systems.
- Establishes a close interaction with the business process owners for the implementation of architecture and data dictionaries.
- Develops improved methods and procedures for data capture and collection.
- Defines workflows for the timely capture and abstraction of trainee data.
- Provides end-user support regarding data sources, as well as guidance in the appropriate use of query and database building, institutionally support business intelligence and reporting applications.
Data Analyst (30%)
- Partners with Business Liaison to understand the requirements of customers and data architects.
- Interprets data, analyzes results using statistical techniques, and provides ongoing support for custom, canned, or self-service reports and dashboards.
- Implement data importing and exporting between New Innovations, Slate, and MDA databases.
- Complete yearly institutional reports, like CBM00R, Conflict of Interest, and NSF reports.
Project System Analyst (25%)
- Understand the business, business objectives, and current business challenges within Education and Training, Research Training, Graduate Medical, and Catalyst areas.
- Develops project plans and manages operational projects and periodic releases.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Estimates resources, dependencies, and communication requirements and implements them.
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree.
Experience
Required: Seven years of integration programming and/or systems level experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Preferred: Experience in executing queries and programming, with a strong background in database management and development.
