At Regions, the Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Engineer develops automated tests to validate the functionality of applications systems across various applications such as web, mobile, and mainframe.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Participates in developing acceptance criteria, test design, and automation recommendations in the early phases of the project
  2. Qualifies tests shortlisted for automation; influences teams to develop atomic and autonomous tests
  3. Automates functional and API tests to validate production readiness of software applications
  4. Integrates automated tests into Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipeline
  5. Integrates automated tests with Test Management tools to write test results
  6. Derives and conditions test data for automation using queries to database and APIs
  7. Creates training documentation and conducts knowledge transfer sessions
  8. Collaborates and communicates effectively with various teams to achieve desired outcomes
  9. Stays abreast of latest trends in Testing Automation industry, and recommends ways to improve efficiency, speed and reduce cost through research and innovation
  10. Participates in PI planning, sprint Planning, and daily standup meetings with project/development teams
  11. Supports automation testing needs of new projects, infrastructure upgrades and application upgrades/enhancements
  12. Contributes to DevOps development activities
  13. Serves as a subject matter expert, acting as a coach and mentor to project teams and technical staff in the area of automation on their assigned project tasks
  14. May perform manual testing of applications
  15. Maintains documentation for testing activities and cases
  16. Collaborates with peers to create parameters and comparison data for improved accuracy
  17. Remains abreast of trends in testing tools and strategies
  18. Assists with complex testing projects
  19. May offer advice and guidance to junior analysts, assisting in developing business/technical knowledge, analytical skills, and case management

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree and six (6) years of experience in test automation and/or software development

Preferences

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Management, Statistics, Math, or related field
  2. Experience creating relational database queries and analyzing data
  3. Experience creating, executing, and maintaining industry standard test automation frameworks as well as planning, estimating, and reporting automation testing activities
  4. Experience using API’s (e.g. SOAP/REST) to get/post the required information from/to other interfaces
  5. Experience utilizing Power BI and CI/CD tools
  6. Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies
  7. Experience with C# - NUnit – RestSharp, or Java – TestNG – RestAssured, Postman as well as Bamboo, GIT, Artifactory, JIRA, and Confluence
  8. Experience with testing in containerized environments (e.g. Docker)
  9. Experience with various Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as C#, Visual Studio, Java, Eclipse, or IntelliJ
  10. Knowledge of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous testing practices

Additional Job Description

  1. Designs and builds test automation solutions for mobile applications leveraging native languages and tools; XCUITest with Swift for iOS, and Espresso with Kotlin for Android.
  2. Designs and builds test automation solutions for cloud-native micro-services to include functional and performance tests for APIs and databases.

Knowledge

  1. Xcode, XCUITest, Swift, Android Studio, Espresso, Kotlin, Sauce Labs, Selenium, QTest, .NET IDEs (VS, Rider), Load Runner, JMeter.

This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building with the primary location being Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Job Range Target:

Minimum: $91,770.00 USD

50th Percentile: $123,080.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans: This job is not incentive eligible.
